LEADERSHIP TEAM
Praise God for our outstanding Teacher Training Team: Martha Burdick, Karen Legatt, Judy Melvin, Sharri Muscarella, and Dana Plummer. These ladies volunteer their time to equip teens and adults to reach the children of Phoenix for Jesus Christ.
MINISTRY TRAINING
Praise God for the wonderful Super Seminar that was held in June at First Institutional Baptist Church. Several new partnerships have developed as a result of this training, which God will use to reach the children throughout the Valley of the Sun.
MINISTRY IN THE COMMUNITY
Thank our Father in Heaven for the work that He did in kids lives this summer. 635 children have been reached thus far, and over 76 boys and girls have chosen Christ as their Saviour and their friend.
Sharri Muscarella has been working in the Sunnyslope area building relationship and mentoring children in various apartment complexes, churches, and community centers. A model urban ministry is being developed in Sunnyslope, where churches will "adopt-a-community" and then invest in the lives of the families physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
As we look to the school year of ministry, praise God for strong turnouts for training seminars in August and September, and for the two NEW CLUBS starting at Larkspur Elementary (PV) and Stevenson Elementary (Mesa). Praise God for a tremendous turn out at a pastor's luncheon in Buckeye a few weeks ago and the new relationships with CEF that will result. Praise God for opportunities to reach children in October with Fall Festivals and Block Parties at various churches.
PRAYER REQUESTS
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Pray for the
development of Ministry Teams in the East Valley (Apache Junction, Mesa,
Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe) and the West Valley (Buckeye, Avondale,
Litchfield Park, Tolleson, and SW Phoenix) in the coming months.
MINISTRY IN THE COMMUNITY
Pray for the funding to cover the costs of high gas prices and other unforeseen expenses this summer. God has used CEF Valley of the Sun to reach boys and girls this summer in neighborhood Vacation Bible Schools, 5-Day Clubs in Day Care Centers, mobile home parks, apartment complexes, as well as several camps.
CLUBS IN THE COMMUNITY
Good News Clubs throughout
the Valley will begin in mid-September. Pray for new leadership to step up at
a few After School Good News Clubs at Copper Canyon, Village Vista,
Cactus View, Zaharis, Ryan, Taft, and Lindhberg. Pray that many existing
leaders will return to the new school year refreshed and ready to reach
the children. Pray for new clubs to start in Buckeye, Kyrene, Paradise Valley, Tempe, Washington, and Peoria school districts.
NEW OFFICE LOCATION FOR CEF
CEF Valley of the Sun HAS MOVED from Scottsdale to North Central Phoenix during the month of August. We are thankful for God's provision of a beautiful office suite in the lower level of the office building at Bethany Bible Church. Pray that this ministry center will be the launch pad to evangelize children and reach families for God.

to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish them in the Word of God and enfold them in the local church for Christian living.
